WIIKWEMKOONG – May 19, 2026 — The community is invited to experience an exciting and educational event as the renowned Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Golden Helmets Precision Motorcycle Team makes a special appearance in Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory on June 4, 2026. The Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service (WTPS) is excited to bring this team to the Territory, and provide residents with a unique opportunity to witness their skills firsthand.
The OPP Golden Helmets are known across Ontario for their remarkable motorcycle precision drills, showcasing skill, safety, and teamwork. Their performance features tightly coordinated formations, intricate maneuvers, and thrilling demonstrations that highlight both rider expertise and the importance of safe driving practices.
“This is a great opportunity for our community to come together and experience something truly unique,” said Ron Gignac, Chief of Police, WTPS. “The Golden Helmets are not only impressive performers, but strong advocates for road safety and community engagement. We’re proud to welcome them to Wiikwemkoong and share this event with our residents.”

The show will run for approximately 30 minutes, followed by an opportunity for attendees to view the motorcycles up close and meet the officers.
Road Closure & Parking Information:
- Wikwemikong Way will be closed from Kaboni Street to South Corbiere Lane from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
- Parking is available at Thunderbird Park
- Spectators are invited to watch along the south side of Wikwemikong Way
- Students will be positioned behind the fence on the north side, and the public is kindly asked not to line the road on that side
Residents are encouraged to bring their families, arrive early, and enjoy this memorable event celebrating safety, skill, and community spirit.
