If you choose to proceed with an application, part of your preparation would be to learn about our police service. The Strategic Plan and Annual Report would be beneficial.
Once accepted, the training duration would look similar to this:
- the recruit will spend two weeks Pre-OPC at the OPP Academy (OPPA)
- followed by 13 weeks at OPC for Basic Constable Training
- part A – 6 weeks at PPA
- infield training at WTPS for 13 weeks
- part B – 4 weeks at PPS
- infield training at WTPS will be with an assigned primary coach officer.
The probationary period for recruit constables at WTPS is 12 months from the first day of work reporting to your platoon. The recruit will be assigned a coach officer for the probationary period.
