Two Arrested and Cocaine Seized During Proactive Patrols — Repeat Offender Arrested for Second Time in 24 Hours

Wiikwemkoong, ON — December 10, 2025 — Officers with the Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service (WTPS), as part of the proactive enforcement initiative Project Wigwam—which focuses on monitoring and interdicting repeat offenders—arrested two individuals and seized a significant quantity of suspected cocaine during an evening patrol on December 8, 2025
At approximately 7:20 p.m., officers observed a vehicle acting suspiciously in the area of Kaboni Road. A traffic stop was conducted shortly thereafter. During the investigation, officers determined that both occupants had provided false information about their identities.
Both individuals were placed under arrest for Obstructing a Peace Officer. A search incident to arrest resulted in the seizure of Canadian currency, drug-related paraphernalia, and cocaine with an estimated street value of $10,000.
Further investigation revealed that one of the accused had been arrested just one day earlier, on December 7, 2025, during a separate traffic stop in Wiikwemkoong. In that incident, the male was charged with two counts of Failing to Comply with an Undertaking after officers determined he was once again breaching release conditions.
This second arrest within a 24-hour period upon the same felon, highlights ongoing concerns related to repeat offenders, non-compliance with release orders, and the continued impact such individuals have upon community safety.
As a police service, we continue to witness repeat offenders that have been released from custody following a criminal arrest, continue to ignore their orders and conditions of release. These individuals continue to victimize our citizens and wreak havoc upon the community. We are proactive in quelling this scourge.

Both accused were held for bail hearings scheduled for December 9, 2025, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury.
