WIIKWEMKOONG, ON  — July 29, 2026 — Two people have been charged following the execution of a search warrant at a Maple Street residence.

During the early morning of July 27, 2026, Wiikwemkoong Security By-Law Enforcement reported a suspicious vehicle entering the territory.

Members of the Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service (WTPS), assisted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Tactical and Rescue Unit,  Emergency Response Team, Community Street Crime Unit, executed a search warrant at the residence on July 29, 2026.

Officers seized more than $36,000 in suspected illegal drugs and recovered property connected to a previously reported theft.

Stacey AIABENS, 42, of Wiikwemkoong, and Danyel COLMENARES-GUEVERA, 37, of Toronto, were each charged with:

·         Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

·         Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

A third female was arrested on outstanding warrants.

AIABENS and COLMENARES-GUEVERA were held for bail hearings and have been remanded into custody.

“This investigation is an excellent example of community partners working together toward the common goal of protecting Wiikwemkoong,” stated Chief of Police Ron Gignac. “Those who bring illegal drugs into our territory should expect to be investigated and prosecuted. WTPS remains committed to protecting our community from the harms associated with drug trafficking.”
